Unmasked

If I could stand still in the midst of drifting thoughts,
If I could sit calm whilst others rush with greed,
I would be happier than I am,
And would be simpler than others as well,

If I could witness the changes within self,
And the path, guided by age and time.
If I could draw the line between wants and needs,
Reality and delusion, so vividly,
I would be who I really am, unmasked.

If I could direct the path if not fate,
I would not have been standing where I am,
If I weren't attached with all my and mine
I might not have decided to live here forever.
